WHAT THE COMMITTEE DOES:
The committee monitors all planning applications relating to the estate and makes representations to the local authority on applications that may adversely impact on the amenity or ambience the estate.
The committee also joins with other associations and parties to make representations on wider planning issues that, whilst not directly relating to the estate, could affect the amenity or ambience of the general area.
The committee also makes representations to the relevant authorities on other issues affecting the estate such as transport; parking; road maintenance; cleaning services; trees etc.
An annual general meeting is held in March or April which members can attend and at which the issues dealt with over the past year are reported on and discussed. Members may raise issues of concern and discuss them so that a general view of the direction the committee should apply its attention to can be determined. Members' concerns can be raised with a committee member at any time, who will raise it with the committee. The annual accounts of the Association are also presented at the meeting.
The committee feels that it is vitally important as many residents as possible belong to the Association, so that it can represent the estate fully and its representations will carry weight with the local authority and councilors.
